Double Certification (March Intake)

 Strength Pilates Principles Certification

Physio-Led Strength Training for Mat & Reformer

Strength Pilates is everywhere but most instructors were never taught how to actually build strength inside Pilates safely and progressively.

This certification teaches you how to move beyond “burn-style” classes and program strength with purpose, clarity, and results.

You will learn:

Strength training inside Pilates

  • What Strength Pilates actually is (and what it isn’t)

  • How to combine stabiliser work with meaningful load

  • Why fatigue ≠ strength

The science that drives results

  • Muscle fibre recruitment (Type I vs Type II)

  • Strength vs hypertrophy vs endurance

  • Time under tension, mechanical tension, and metabolic stress

  • Energy systems and why some formats feel hard but don’t build strength

  • Simple periodisation to prevent plateaus

Non-negotiable programming principles

  • Progressive overload in Pilates

  • Specificity: matching class intent to client goals

  • Rest and recovery

  • Variation without chaos

Repeatable Strength Pilates class structure

  • Warm-up that primes joints and activates key muscle groups

  • Main strength block (20–30 minutes) with layered loading

  • Accessory work for joint protection

  • Cool-down and breathwork for nervous system recovery

Coaching strength in real classes

  • Supersets, drop sets, and circuits — when and why to use them

  • Cueing for alignment and load tolerance

  • Pregnancy-safe and joint-friendly modifications

Comprehensive Pre & Postnatal Pilates Certificate

As a Pilates instructor, you play a critical role in supporting women through pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Without clear education, pre/postnatal programming can feel overwhelming, conservative, or inconsistent.

This certification is led by women’s health specialist–trained physiotherapists and gives you the confidence to work safely, intelligently, and inclusively with prenatal and postnatal clients.

You will learn:

Prenatal Pilates

  • Trimester-by-trimester breakdown of anatomical and physiological changes

  • Exercise guidelines, precautions, and contraindications

  • Common pregnancy-related conditions, including:

    • Pubic symphysis dysfunction

    • Diastasis recti

    • Pelvic girdle pain

    • Sciatica

    • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Practical cueing strategies for pelvic floor activation

  • Clear, in-class modifications that maintain flow

Postnatal Pilates

  • Differences between vaginal delivery and C-section recovery

  • Healing timelines and safe return-to-exercise principles

  • Abdominal separation and pelvic floor dysfunction:

    • Anatomy and pathology

    • In-class modifications that support recovery

  • Week-by-week progression guidelines for return to movement

By the end of this certification, you will:

  • Understand functional anatomy relevant to pregnancy and postpartum

  • Confidently modify exercises without isolating clients

  • Create inclusive class plans for mixed groups

  • Coach with clarity, confidence, and safety
